About City EyeCity Eye has been promoting video production within Southampton and the surrounding area since 1987 and is a not for profit company limited by guarantee and with charitable status. City Eye receives financial support from Southampton City Council and Screen South, the UK Film Council's Regional Screen Agency for the South-east. City Eye is Screen South's Community Network Partner for the Hampshire and Isle of Wight region.
City Eye works with a wide range of people in the community who participate in training courses and video projects. We are regularly commissioned to make films and the variety of work is stimulating and the issues challenging. City Eye also helps individuals seeking to produce independent film and/or video productions with the assistance of Screen South/Film Council funding. Through our own Production Award Scheme, City Eye provides low-cost and sometimes free access to equipment for first and second time filmmakers. Equal opportunity of access to our facilities and services is the cornerstone of our existence and work. City Eye exists to inspire and promote film and video culture across Hampshire and the Isle of Wight. It is a leading community filmmaking resource in South East England. City Eye is here to support the community, arts organisations, individuals, emerging and established talent in the achievement of their filmmaking goals.
