Beyond Cinema: Moving Image Informatics
Saturday November 13th 2010
09:30- 17:00

The Millais Gallery at Solent University are holding a one-day symposium named 'Beyond Cinema: Moving Image Informatics'. This symposium brings together leading theorists, practitioners and artists to discuss the pressing issue of how the cinematic has and is changing under the influence of the cyberworld, and what this means for the future of the moving image.

There have been many conferences looking at this topic, however this will be the first to combine leading theorists such as Alex Galloway from NYU, with cross platform artists such as Blast Theory and Boredom Research, and film/TV producers such as Gina Fegan, Seefood TV and Krishna Stott.

The inclusion of a diverse set of speakers will allow a more dynamic conversation to take place, allowing participants to gain a deeper understanding of the changes taking place.

Please see the attached flier for more information and for a full list of speakers.

The event will be taking place at Solent University, SM Building, Above Bar street, Southampton.

I would recommend booking in advance to ensure you get a place- tickets are £10 and this includes a buffet lunch.

To book please contact 02380 319448.
